Video: A Day in the Life of LeBron James With a Galaxy Note 2

Posted: 30 Oct 2012 03:58 PM PDT

Now that our jealous attitude towards LeBron James’ special edition, engraved Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has died down a bit, he’s returned to show us exactly what he has been up to with his new phone. Think haircuts, taking pictures of beautiful ocean views, hitting up a food truck, receiving texts from Magic Johnson, chatting with old coaches, watching dunk videos on YouTube, snapping pics of his new $300 Nikes, and of course, documenting the night that he is to receive his first ever NBA championship ring (which is tonight).

Rope Rescue for Android, The Perfect Mix of Cut the Rope and Angry Birds

Posted: 30 Oct 2012 03:58 PM PDT

Why didn’t I think of this? From Untame Games, comes a game called Rope Rescue that matches the cuteness of the Angry Birds characters and combines it with the brain-busting puzzle-like fun of Cut the Rope. You’re given a single bird whose mission is to set free the caged bird. You grab a rope and use it with pulleys and gears to set the other bird free. Naturally, the game gets increasingly difficult as you progress.*
There is a free version and a paid version with no ads. So, have we found the next cult classic?

Download: Android 4.2 Keyboard With Gesture Typing (Probably an Early Build)

Posted: 30 Oct 2012 03:58 PM PDT

Hey, look! It’s the Android 4.2 keyboard pulled from a Nexus 4 dump! It’s probably an early build, hence the ugly white and blue floating word prediction, which is unlike the subtle floating word prediction that Hugo Barra showed off yesterday. No matter what though, it’s neat to use and it works well. It predicts on the fly, corrects as needed, and flows like butter.*

Android Sales: Unlocked 16GB Galaxy Note 2 For $579 and ASUS Eee Pad Slider For $319

Posted: 30 Oct 2012 03:58 PM PDT

If you’re an Android fanboy and can’t resist a good Internet daily deal, then you better listen up. Our first deal is on one of the hottest handsets out right now, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. This is the unlocked variant for $579.99, but keep in mind, it won’t work on Verizon. There is 16GB of internal storage, but if you’re looking to pick up this phone/tablet hybrid this is a pretty good price. You even get to pick between white or grey. Our second deal is on the ASUS Eee Pad Slider. The cousin of the Transformer that never got much love, this is a tablet with a keyboard that instead of detaching, slides to make the back of the device. It’s on sale right now for $319.99 and it’s new, which is rare, because usually deals like this are on refurbished devices.*Anyone going to check out these sales?Buy:*Galaxy Note 2 | ASUS Eee Pad SliderCheers everyone who sent these in!

Flip Launcher for Android – Convenient App Launching With The Flick of a Finger

Posted: 30 Oct 2012 03:58 PM PDT

Multitasking – one of the many reasons why Android lovers can’t get enough of the OS. Well, here’s an app that will make switching through apps even easier on you. It’s called Flip Launcher and it runs on top of whatever launcher you are currently running. It places “flippers” on the side of the display which can be customized with themes and transparency options, which are then pulled out showing 4 apps. You can have up to 6 flippers at once, each containing 4 apps. That’s a lot of apps.
There are plenty of cool options to change the look of the flippers and yes, you can choose which side the flippers are on. It’s neat for anyone who finds themselves needing a quicker way of accessing their favorite applications. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Tuesday Poll: Which New Nexus Device Are You Most Excited For?

Posted: 30 Oct 2012 03:58 PM PDT

Yesterday, Google dropped a whole new line of hardware on us and we’re still going over them, figuring out which device has us more excited than the others. We have the Nexus 4, with its high-end specs, but lack of LTE. There is the new Nexus 10, a stunning device with an extremely high resolution for a price that is incredibly competitive, and last but certainly not least, we have the new Nexus 7 with 32GB of storage and HSPA+ radios built in.
We went over the pros and cons of the new devices in last night’s Droid Life Show, and I think we pretty much summed up that with the lack of LTE, the Nexus 4 is a good device, but could be a letdown to some. Sure, it has an amazing quad-core processor and a nice display, but with no LTE, it doesn’t meet a very simple standard that many buyers are looking for. As for the Nexus 10, we have yet to get our hands on one, but initially, we’re definitely excited. The display itself basically takes the cake on this one. And as for our dear friend the Nexus 7, you can do no wrong in our eyes.
Let us know which new device has you most excited from yesterday. It’s certainly not an easy choice and each has its own market to appeal to. Let’s hear your thoughts!

Need for Speed Most Wanted Released to Google Play, You Might Want to Hold On

Posted: 30 Oct 2012 03:58 PM PDT

Big day for apps, as EA Games just released Need for Speed Most Wanted to Google Play. From what we can see in the trailer and press images, the game looks like one major piece of work – highly detailed sports cars, extreme environments, and the ability to compete with friends across multiple platforms such as iOS, Android, and Kindle devices.*
The game also brings a pretty high price tag at $6.99, but for the bad boy in all of us, it’s most likely one of the best extreme driving*experiences*you can get on mobile. Check the trailer below and get hyped up with me.
