DeathMetal HD The Most Brutal Game of Arkanoid You Will Ever Play Posted: 08 Oct 2012 07:04 PM PDT Classic arcade gamers should get a kick out of this. DeathMetal HD might have an exceptionally awesome name, and after watching a video of the gameplay, it could most certainly be the most intense game of Arkanoid I have ever seen. With the levels not taking place in the*conventional*box shape, the bounces are crazy and the power-ups are even crazier.* The game costs about $1.30 and comes with 30 levels which should definitely keep you busy for a while. Good luck. Play Link ($1.29) Click here to view the embedded video. |
Official HTC DLX Specs Outed on Twitter? Posted: 08 Oct 2012 07:04 PM PDT Did long-time HTC developer, Football, posted the official specs for the HTC DLX on Twitter? Well, we would certainly like to think so. As you all know, this is a device we first outed via benchmark back in July. The “dlx” is supposedly headed to Verizon under model number HTC6435, with a 1080p display and a set of specs we have yet to see in an mobile device. If Football is correct, then this phone will indeed have a 5-inch 1080p display, run on a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, contain 1.5GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a 12MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, a 2500mAh non-removable battery, and run Android 4.1.2.* What he didn’t mention was a carrier partner, but so far, all we have seen is references to Verizon, who passed on the HTC One X. This phone may launch elsewhere or internationally, however, we would be more than surprised to see it not show up as one of Big Red’s big holiday releases, along side the Note 2 and RAZR MAXX HD. The picture above is rumored to be the device. A rumored retail name that has been tossed around is “DROID Incredible X.” It’s tough to tell if that will make the cut or not. Lastly, if it matters to you, the device received its GCF certification last week. Via: *Twitter Cheers Mike, Austin and everyone else! |
Android Development Team Sets the Guidelines Straight for Tablet App Makers Posted: 08 Oct 2012 07:04 PM PDT Today, Google’s Android*development*team released a series of guidelines and a Tablet Quality Checklist*for tablet application makers to follow to make the best apps they possibly can. Samsung Galaxy S3 is Officially T-Mobiles Best Selling Device of All Time Posted: 08 Oct 2012 07:04 PM PDT This afternoon, T-Mobile*announced through their Twitter feed that Samsung’ Galaxy S3 device is their best-selling device of all time. There isn’t a link to the numbers to see just how many have been sold, but with a badge like that, it must be pretty impressive. T-Mobile has had some good devices in the past such as the Galaxy S2, the G2, the G1 (of course), and who could forget the OG Sidekick? Be thankful, Samsung that they still don’t have the iPhone 5 in their lineup. Via: Twitter |
Developers Provide Working CM10 Alpha for Motorola DROID X2 Posted: 08 Oct 2012 07:04 PM PDT Sure,*Motorola has moved onto the RAZR line as their new pride and joy, but the DROIDX line used to be the top dog in the Android game. Just because the DROIDX2 is a few years old now doesn’t mean it’s dead. XDA developer*dragonzkiller*has provided the public with an alpha build of CyanogenMod 10 that can be flashed to bring your old device up to speed once again. But be warned, this is still in alpha stage and a few big pieces are not working just quite yet, namely recovery. Restoring and flashing ROMs isn’t functioning yet, but restoring backups works fine. However, WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth, Calling, GPS and Google Now are a few of the big features that are working. Installation isn’t too complicated but shoehorning new versions of Android into old devices is always tricky. If you want to dust off your old phone and give it a shot, hit the source link below and please make a backup first for safety.Update: *According to readers, this was updated late last night with working recovery. Go get it!Via:*XDA |

Important Information: Avast reporting as malware?! No it's definitely not malware, it is the AdNetwork SDK which has been certified by Verisign and fully approved by Google. Avast and a few other outdated scanners will mark this as a potential risk because of the required permissions. Don't be fooled, use a scanner with legitimate identifiers like Lookout Security or AVG. Read our privacy policy or contact us for more info. Then why are there so many permissions? Well, most are required for the app drawer and home screen controls. The others are necessary for our AdNetwork's SDK and are explained in more detail here - http://www.startapp.com/permissions/ . All permissions added are completely harmless and at no point do we collect or store any personal information! Our user's privacy is a top priority, but please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. This app will provide a few useful shortcuts on your device in the form of a search bookmark link and home screen icon. This gives us a few cents each time the app is downloaded for the first time and will help us out a lot in developing more apps. If you do not want to use these new tools, you can simply ignore or delete them by dragging the icon to the trashcan and no harm is done (our app remains the same, no need to uninstall it). Thank you! If you have any questions or comments, please visit our website or send us an email and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Note to Dedicated Users and Fans: To those of you that have been supporting Syndicate Apps and using our launchers and themes for the last year, you may have noticed that some of them haven’t been updated in a couple months. We appreciate your dedication and feedback more than can be expressed in writing and are extremely sorry for the wait, but this is only because we have spent the last 6 months straight developing a new launcher that will be the most advanced and customizable app on the market when we are ready to launch. The apps we have released in the meantime are to make sure individual features and add-ons work before integrating them into the beta project (and only specific styles for those features at that). Wild Blood Goes Live in Google Play, Hack and Slash Comes to Your Mobile Device Posted: 08 Oct 2012 12:59 PM PDT Nothing is quite as satisfying in a video game than just picking up a giant sword and mowing through waves after waves of enemies. Luckily for us, we can all get that satisfaction to-go with the launch of Wild Blood*on Google Play. Gameloft has called upon the power of the Unreal game engine that is used in countless console video games to power this story that lets you “Live the unforgettable journey of Sir Lancelot as you never have before!”While the “re-imagined*story of Sir Lancelot” might be a bit of a stretch, the game looks to make up for it in gameplay. 10 levels filled with 20 different enemies will test your reflexes and giant boss battles look to keep you on your toes. Gameloft promises epic battles, but with a price tag of $6.99 for the game, we hope that the Unreal engine will be able to deliver.Play Link*- ($6.99) |

Motorolas Webtop and Lapdock are Dead. Posted: 08 Oct 2012 12:59 PM PDT In news that will likely disappoint very few, Motorola has officially killed off its custom webtop software and lapdock mobile accessories. First introduced at CES in early 2011, this was Motorola’s attempt at creating the ultimate portable business and computing solution. Docking a phone into a shell of a laptop to create a computer experience – what an innovative idea, right? Well, after hitting stores under a sky-high pricing model, the accessory line failed to take off. The slow, buggy, and limited software also didn’t help the cause. It was pretty obvious that this move was coming, after seeing the UI for webtop in Ice Cream Sandwich switch to a full tablet mode. But now, the end is here.*It’s one of those solutions that I wish would have been done properly, but unfortunately, it just never was. Will you miss the webtop and lapdock idea? Via: *CNET |
